“Children are a gift from the Lord.” (Psalm 127:3)

“And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

Children are indeed a gift and great reward from God. At SonRise, we treasure our youth and are determined to come alongside of them and their families teaching them who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him. We endeavor to teach the joys of what hope, peace, joy, love, and pleasure come from being a child of God. In SonRise’ Sunday school for children we learn from both the Old and New Testaments, commit Scripture to memory, pray for each other and God’s Church.

Our young ones and children up to 5th grade remain in the worship service alongside their parents until sermon time when they move over to their age appropriate Sunday school classrooms. We enjoy not only having our children in our worship but being active participants in various ways themselves. While our children from 6th grade and older remain with the adults for the sermon they do meet weekly on Sunday evenings from 6:00-7:30pm.

Our prayer is that all our children are equipped with Biblical knowledge and wisdom, grow in the love of Christ, gain a passion for the glory of God, and would strive to be used for His glory among the nations in this fallen world.
